Te Akau track work highlights - Saturday 22 August -
Course proper (Heavy):
Duchess Kate (Miller) and Stella Di Paco (Hercock) went together over 1000 metres running the 800m in 57.4. Castletown Stakes (Listed, 1200m) winner Stella Di Paco (Paco Boy) was more appreciative of the conditions and pleased her rider ahead of the Rating 65 1200 metres on the home track next Wednesday at Matamata.
Sand track:
Scrutinize (Miller) and Xtravagant (Hercock) worked very well together over 1000 metres in 1:04.7, last 600m in 36.3. Both colts Scrutinize (Savabeel) and Xtravagant (Pentire) won their only starts at two and are ready to kick off again next Saturday at Ruakaka and Hastings respectively.
Splurge (Hercock) and Zambezi Warrior (Miller) worked together over 800m in 53, last 600m in 37.5. Splurge (Savabeel) and Zambezi Warrior (Pentire) will trial again next Tuesday 25 August at Te Teko before proposed debuts on September 9 at Te Rapa.
Interstellar (Coleman) and Love Triangle (Miller) went 1000m in 1:03.4, last 600m in 37.7. Love Triangle (Encosta De Lago) is earmarked to debut next Saturday at Ruakaka and Interstellar (Shamoline Warrior) is scheduled to commence her racing career at one of the two meetings next Saturday.
Ekraarstatic (Zac-Syed) and Imperium (K. Price) worked together over 1200m.
Prior to trialling next Tuesday at Te Teko, Sequitur (Miller) went 1000m in 1:05.5, last 600m in 37.5.
Forty Winks (Hanafi) and Show No Emotion (Hercock) covered 800m in 55, last 600m in 39.
Gardenier (K. Price) ran 800m in 53, last 600m in 39 and appears a nice staying type filly in the making. Red Poppy (Hanafi) went an easy 800m in 54. Its Our Showtime (Hercock) and Our Drahma Queen (Zac-Syed) worked together over 800. Madame Jamai (Hercock) looked full of beans when working over 800.
Carmenize (Hanafi) and 3 f Encosta De Lago - Chasing Mammon (Fawcett) went an easy 800m together as did Grazia (Hercock - pictured below right) and Promosso (Hanafi - pictured below left), while Spritz (Gomas) worked solo over 800m. They are amongst a list of about 25 horses scheduled to trial next Tuesday at Te Teko.

Sand track, three-quarter pace:
Hysteria Lane (Gomas) went 800m, as did Princess Davone (K. Price), Astrid (Zac-Syed). Our Abbadean (Miller) went 1000m.
The jumper, Sunset Pass (Gerard) had more to offer at the end of his three-quarter work over 2400 metres on the all-weather track in preparation for the Maiden Steeplechase 3500 metres next Sunday 30 August at Te Aroha.
