Te Akau track work highlights - Saturday 20 February -
Fog prevented some timing.
Course proper (Dead):
Heroic Valour (Miller) and Sassy ‘N' Smart (K. Jones) worked an easy 1000m in 1:12.8, last 600m in 41.8. Debut juvenile winner Heroic Valour (Fastnet Rock) contests the $50,000 Matamata Slipper (Listed, 1200m) next Saturday at Matamata, and stakes' winning filly Sassy ‘N' Smart (Smart Missile) turns out in the $100,000 Matamata Breeders' Stakes (Gr. 2, 1200m).
Preparing for the $30,000 Rating 85 1600 metres at the same meeting Arpeggio (K. Jones) went an easy 1200m in 1:30, last 600m in 43.2.
Tiffany's Time (Hanafi) and Zavistic (Leveque) went 800m in 56, last 600m in 40.6.
Sand track:
Flaming (Miller) ran an easy 1200m. She ran 1000m in 1:11.7, last 600m in 40.6. Osmunda (Miller) did similar work.
Echezeaux (Hanafi) and Stella Di Paco (K. Jones) worked together over 800m in 53.5, last 600m in 38.5, both going well.
Tatters (Fawcett) and Thetruthisoutthere (Leveque) went 800m in 53, last 600m in 37.6.
Coincidence (Hanafi) and 3 g Per Incanto - Flying Florence (K. Jones) were tracked along by Grazia (Leveque) over 800m in 53.9.
Alrina (Hanafi) and Lady Jasmine (Fawcett) worked over 800m in 59.6, last 600m in 39.6.
2 g Alamosa - Fidelitas (K. Price) and 2 g Pour Moi - Madam Stravinsky (Hanafi) ran 800m in 55, last 600m in 40.6.
Sand track, three-quarter pace:
Splurge (Richards) went 800m in 59.
All-weather track:
Cathedral Cove (Miller) and Latin Rose (Fawcett) ran 1200m in 1:20.1, last 600m in 39.5. Both racing next Thursday at Wairoa, Cathedral Cove (Zabeel) debuts in the Maiden 1900 metres and Latin Rose (Mastercraftsman), racing in great form, contests the Rating 75 1300 metres.
Discretely Red (Leveque), Lucy Wyldstyle (Fawcett) and 2 f Alamosa - Ensorcelez (Hanafi) ran 800m together in 55.5, last 600m in 40.
Brer (Richards) worked over ground at three-quarter pace, running the last 1000m in 1:17.
