Te Akau track work highlights - Saturday 11 March

Course Proper (heavy):

Group One Rosehill Guineas' bound Gingernuts (McNab) looked impressive on the testing ground with Wide Awake (Leveque) over 1000 metres in 1.21, last 600 in 40.9.

Smashing (K. Jones) and Sassy ‘N' Smart (Lammas) worked over 1000 metres in 1.16, last 600 in 42. Both head to Trentham next Saturday for the feature meeting.

Group One New Zealand Oaks' bound fillies Dame Margo Fonteyn (Fawcett) and Fashionably (M. Grylls) worked over 1200 metres in 1.25, last 600 in 41.7.

Foreigner (Miller) and Scarlet Princess (McNab) worked together over 1000 metres in 1.10.4, last 600 in 40.7.  Both head to the Matamata meeting on Wednesday, Foreigner (Savabeel) is an acceptor for the Rating 65 1400 metre event while Scarlet Princess (Redwood) will start in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metre contest.

No.2 Sand:

Grazia (Leveque) wasn't after time working over 1200 metres, running her last 1000 metres in 1.11. She lines up in Wednesday's South Waikato Cup over 2000 metres at Matamata where Michael McNab has been engaged to ride.

Our Abbadean (K. Price) worked over 1000 metres in 1.19, as she prepares for next Saturday's Group Three Cuddle Stakes over 1600 metres, a race sponsored by her owners Wentwood Grange.

Swing Note (Miller) and Cousteau (McNab) prepared for the 2YO event at Matamata on Wednesday by working over 1000 metres in 1.13.6, last 600 in 41.8.

3f Mastercraftsman - Gaard (Leveque) and Smoke House Bay (Fawcett) worked over 800 metres in 1.00, last 600 in 45.

Lady Pinot (K. Price), Lady Masako (Richards) and 3f Pins - Lillett (Fawcett) all worked over 800 metres at three-quarter pace.

Astrid (Fawcett) stopped the clock in 1.00 at the end of 1000 metres, she ran her last 600 in 43.

Lady Amadeus (M. Grylls) worked over 1000 metres in 1.09, last 600 in 40.

More Than Fast (Fawcett) and O'Know (Tan) covered 1000 metres in 1.00, last 600 in 45.

Zambezi Warrior (Pinn) looked good worked over 1000 metres at three-quarter pace while Stolen Love (K. Price) worked well over 800 metres in 57, last 600 in 42.

Niamh Elizabeth (Fawcett) covered 1000 metres at three-quarter pace, running her last 600 in 40.5

2g Darci Brahma - Rihanna (Cole) looked to be travelling well with 2f Roc Da Cambes - Sweet Torque (Leveque) over 600 metres in 42.

2f Burgundy - Trove (Richards) looked good worked alongside 2f Fastnet Rock - Forest Native (Tan) over 600 metres.
