Te Akau track work highlights - Saturday 29 April -

Plough:

Abloom (Leveque) and More Than Fast (Tan) worked over 1000 meters in 1:04, last 600 in 36 as they prepare for the local meeting at Matamata on Wednesday. Abloom (Darci Brahma) is due to start in the Maiden Fillies & Mares' 1400, while More than Fast (Fastnet Rock) will run in the Maiden Colts & Geldings' 1400.

Pacific Coast (McNab) & Griffin (Jones) prepared for the Maiden 2YO 1200 at Matamata on Wednesday, running 1000 metres in 1:04.25, home in 35.75, which was pleasing work. Pacific Coast (Snitzel) and Griffin (Iffraaj), the full brother to Gingernuts, will both make their debuts at Matamata on Wednesday after trialling well at Taupo on Monday.

Gold Fever (Lammas) and Latin Rose (McNab) went 1:04 for the 1000, last 600 in 36.5. Both pleased co-trainer Stephen Autridge with their work and they are on target for stakes' assignments next weekend.


Course Proper:


Cousteau (McNab) with Aquilo (Miller) prepared for their juvenile stakes' assignments next weekend with 1000 in 1:09 last 600 38.5. Aquilo (Snitzel) will head to Te Rapa for the Listed Hamilton Equine 2YO Stakes and Cousteau (Exceed and Excel) travels to Riccarton for the Listed Champagne Stakes.

Lucy Wyldstyle (Pinn) and Stolen Love (Miller) ran 1000 metres in 1:03, last 600 in 36.2. Both are entered at Matamata on Wednesday and it was pleasing work from the pair of Savabeel fillies.

Niamh Elizabeth (Lammas) worked over 1000 metres in 1:06.50, last 600 in 37, pleasing co-trainer Stephen Autridge.

Jimmy Rea (Leveque) continued his preparation towards a possible Queensland Winter Carnival appearance, looking good when running 800 metres at three quarter pace.

Zedman (Lammas) and Savvy Lady (Miller) worked over 1000 metres in 1:04.5 last 600 in 36.5. They too are both headed toward the local meeting at Matamata on Wednesday.

Melody Belle (Jones) stepped up her preparation up for Brisbane working over 800 metres at three quarter pace in perfect time. Melody Belle (Commands) continues to come to hand well and could trial at Deagon on 9 May or have a jumpout at Doomben the following Tuesday 16 April.

2f Burgundy / Ensorcelez (M.Grylls) went 600 metres in 45.0


Grass:

O'Know (McNab) worked with a mate on the course proper running 1000 in 1:05 and home in 36.5. It looked to be very good work from O'Know (O'Reilly), co-trainer Stephen Autridge commented.


Brisbane:

Heroic Valour (Richards) and Shocking Luck (B.Grylls) worked over a 1000 metres on the dirt track in 1:07.6, the last 600 in 37.9..  Both Heroic Valour (Fastnet Rock) and Shocking Luck (Shocking) have pleased co-trainer Jamie Richards with how they arrived in Brisbane.

Shocking Luck is due to kick off his campaign on Monday at Ipswich in a Class 3 event over 1500 metres where he will be ridden by Opie Bosson and Heroic Valour will have his first Australian start in the Group 3 Gold Coast Guineas over 1200 metres on Saturday 6 May.
