Te Akau: Weekend Update
6 April, 2013
A look at the week that was and the weekend ahead.

Isn't it depressing just how quickly the times goes?
I just can't believe how quickly the week has gone - it's Friday already!
It's been a great week with six wins including two black type wins but it starts all over again in Singapore tonight. Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker has 11 runners entered tonight and a further seven on Sunday while Te Akau NZ trainer Jason Bridgman takes two to Riccarton.
Te Akau Stud is really green now with about 14mls of rain during the week.
On Sunday Karyn and I are heading to Sydney for the week to attend the Easter Sales. The highlight undoubtedly will be the selling of the Redoute's Choice colt out of Helsinge - the half brother to Black Caviar - he could well break all records in the sales' ring.
If you would like to be involved in a yearling from Sydney please feel free to call me on 021 925 151.
We are currently breaking in 16 horses at the farm and they are all going beautifully. This week we have also had a drain digger on the farm doing all the drains and we have ploughed up about 35 acres, levelled the paddocks and re-sown them with rye grass. We are then going to fence them up for the horses. This will give us another three quality horse paddocks - we love us horses to be in beautiful big areas.
Tomorrow is one of the best days of racing of the year in Sydney - good luck to all the Kiwis!
