Te Akau Weekend Update

The weekend always starts off on a Saturday morning very early when at 5am Karyn checks the Singapore racing results - it is always a great start to the day when Mark has had a successful night the evening prior - and on Friday night we won three races at Kranji and were very unlucky that the tally wasn't four!
Yesterday the Te Akau winning continued at Riccarton as Jason went close to a perfect day with two runners yielding a win and a second placing.
I was thrilled to see Dreamer win - she is a filly that I bought at the Karaka Premier Sale for Christopher and Susannah Grace - and what about Chambord? He went a terrific race to be runner up in the Group 1 NZ 2000 Guineas.
Congratulations to the Canterbury Jockey Club on preparing a near perfect track that would have suited every horse. They ran 56.42 for the Pegasus so nobody could say the track wasn't in top order.
We are hoping for a good day tomorrow as we have eight paddocks of haylage cut and ready to bale.
My attention is now turning to the Ready to Run Sale where I am looking to buy a some nice horses. It looks a terrific catalogue on paper (I have had an abundance of time to study this!) and I have seen some horses that look as if they will develop into really good racehorses. Keep an eye on our website for the details of our purchases.
Meantime, it's getting close to settling in to watch the Singapore racing for this evening.
