Te Akau Woodville Preview
18 November, 2014
Te Akau New Zealand has three horses entered for the ten-race programme on Wednesday November 19 at Woodville.
As on Tuesday November 18 the conditions were: showery and Dead4, rail true.
1.15 p.m. R3 3 Bordeaux (3 c High Chaparral - Our Echezeaux) - Matt Cameron; finished second in a recent trial and now makes his debut from barrier three in the Maiden 1400 metres. His dam, Our Echezeaux (Zabeel), was a winner on debut over 1300 metres and already left impressive winners Dolmabache and Pure Elegance, both by Redoute's Choice (Danehill), from the family of Grand Echezeaux (Zabeel), Darci Brahma (Danehill), Burgundy (Redoute's Choice), Romanee Conti (Sir Tristram) and Ethereal (Rhythm). Out for an educational trip away and race; he shapes as a nice staying type in the making.
1.50 p.m. R4 9 Equanimity (4 m More Than Ready - Insouciant) - Matt Cameron; never got into the act on slow going at New Plymouth, having run home with real purpose for fifth when resuming on Oct. 8 at Taupo, and has impressed winning on a couple of occasions on good and dead ground. Able to produce her best in the Rating 75 1200 metres, following a trip in midfield from barrier eight, she has the quality to test this field.
4.45 p.m. R9 13 La Adelita (4 m High Chaparral - Romantic Liaisons) - Samantha Collett; took awhile to come through in the coat, but trialled competitively for a close second recently and resumes off 200-days in the Rating 65 1400 metres for fillies and mares. On debut in March she came out of midfield to win untouched over 1400 metres at Matamata, and ridden quietly from a wide gate is capable of closing off strongly.
