Te Akau Woodville Thursday Preview

Te Akau Racing has four horses entered on Thursday 22 April at Woodville.

Weather: overcast, track: Dead5, rail: true. No rain forecast.

12.19 p.m. R2 1 Richard of Yorke (9 g Oasis Dream - Cascata) - Michael Roustoby (a3); ended his previous campaign with solid form in the hurdling role. He kept up a good gallop to grab third on the line when trialling on 6 April at Ellerslie, and resumes in the $10,000 Rating 65 Jumpers High-weight 1600 metres. Destined to step in distance before returning to jumping, but he has won six times on the flat.

12.19 p.m. R2 4 Super Sid (4 g Rip Van Winkle - Half Bak) - Shaun Phelan; continued good form when finishing second to stable-mate Seajetz (Iffraa) in the Rating 65 1600 metres on 17 February at Te Aroha. Given time (64 days), and a trial at Cambridge, he rates a top three chance in the $10,000 Rating 65 Jumpers High-weight 1600 metres.

12.19 p.m. R2 8 Ginger Too (4 g Iffraaj - La Chiflota) - Dean Parker (a3); was unable to keep finding in the straight when resuming in the Rating 65 1400 metres on Easter Monday (5 April) at Tauranga, and contests the $10,000 Rating 65 Jumpers High-weight 1600 metres. He has shown ability at times and needs to recapture it.

3.46 p.m. R8 2 Aromatic (4 m Sacred Falls - Vickezzchardonnay) - Johnathan Parkes; freshened in December after winning two of her four starts, and three from seven in total, she quickened nicely on the inner for third when trialling on 6 April at Ellerslie. Extremely genuine, she acts fresh and appears ideally placed to rate a top three chance in the $11,000 Rating 74 1400 metres.
