Te Akau's Four Win Saturday - Trans Tasman Group 1 Glory
Date: 3 Oct 2020
It indeed became a "Super Saturday" - truly stuff which "tangerine" dreams are made of.
A trans-Tasman Group 1 winning double - Probabeel defiant from the 18 barrier in winning the A$1 million Group 1 Epsom Handicap at Royal Randwick.
Two hours prior, New Zealand's Queen of the Turf Melody Belle had narrowly edged out her stablemate Avantage to claim her third consecutive Group 1 Windsor Park Plate at Hastings - Te Akau's fourth win in a row (Gingernuts being the first of the quartet of wins).
A Group 1 tangerine quinella - speaking of a stable quinella today ...
Earlier on the programme, classy 4YO Festivity recorded her third career win from only three starts, withstanding a spirited challenge from her resuming stablemate Pinultimate.
The southern team chimed in with a gutsy effort by Markus Aurelius to further fly the tangerine flag at Riccarton.
All four winners trained by Jamie and all four purchased by David Ellis - congratulations to all of our successful owners!
We could not be more proud of Jamie and our phenomenal team - north, south and Sydney.
