Travel Update
27 August, 2013
It is hard to believe that in just under two weeks we will be back at Te Akau Stud (making a canine trio very happy for sure)! The last days have rushed by with great speed - unlike some of our travel arrangements!
Julia Rose is now back in Auckland and at work at Ellerslie - she spent her final night in London with Lydia taking in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" - the stage show in Drury Lane which both girls said was mind blowing, in terms of the set design and execution - they absolutely loved it! It was a long trek home alone for Jules and judging from the timings of her texts since, her body clock still hasn't quite settled down!
David has been in Baden Baden (below) and whilst he hasn't bought another horse as yet, they are still inspecting some options. He will leave Germany and travel back to the UK via France and is looking forward to meeting the superstar Frankel during his stud visits before returning home later next week.
Karyn had a three hour flight delay - leaving Rome on time she got to Lisbon only to have to fill in three hours - ask her about queuing in the wrong queue - not sure she will want to tell you all about that! (No I won't)!!
Anyway three hours late, she arrived in Faro (below), right in the south of Portugal where our very good friends have a home. A rare thing for Karyn, a 'once-a-year-only' experience, namely sitting in the sun reading a book, is firmly on her agenda for the next four days. Then it is off to London for a farewell weekend with Lydia and the long journey home.
It has been great staying in touch with you while we have been away - we weren't sure whether you would really be interested in our travels and sojourns but your feedback has been amazing! We are so glad you have shared our travels with us and we are very excited about the big team trialling today Tuesday and will be eagerly awaiting the trial by trial text updates! Good luck to Jason, Pam, Tommy, Matt and the whole team - huge day at the 'office' ie Te Teko.
Talk soon!
