Now a closer look at some Te Akau trackwork highlights of Tuesday.

Course proper (slow):

Race rivals for Saturday May 4 in the Benchmark 75 1600 metres at Te Rapa, Imperial Miss (Cameron) and Secret Whisper (Miller) had a solid hit out. Although fog prevented timing, they were reported by the riders to have worked well right through the line after coming in from the 1400 metres and quickening over the final 600m.

Cold Snap (Cameron) did similar work from the 1000 metres as she prepares for the Benchmark 75 1200 metres on Friday May 3 at Hastings.

Sand track:

Able to be timed, the gallop of the morning was Riedel (Miller) and 3 f Zabeel - Mantles Princess (Demir) when working over 1200 metres in 1:17.5, last 600m in a smart 36.8. Having resumed with a strong second at Avondale, Riedel takes his place in the Benchmark 65 1600 metres on Saturday at Te Rapa.

Making her debut over 1200 metres on Friday at Hastings, Show No Emotion(Cameron) had 3 f High Chaparral - Landara (Stack) as a partner when working from the 1200 metres at three-quarter and quickening the final 600m. Fog prevented timing, but they walked off in a relaxed manner.

Down to resume over 1670 metres on May 13 at Paeroa, Polarity (Miller) worked over 1200 metres at three-quarter pace and Adalia (Dye) did the same work in preparation to trial on May 7 at Te Awamutu.

For the meeting at Paeroa, Sunset Pass (Miller) worked over 1400 metres at three-quarter pace. No Nonsense (Cameron) also worked over 1400 metres.

Each working solo over 1000 metres at three-quarter pace: Thrive (Miller) continues coming to hand nicely ahead of a scheduled resume in the weight-for-age race Rotorua Stakes (Listed, 1400m) for fillies & mares on May 11 at Rotorua, while recent debut winner Clos De Tart (Cameron) and last start course/distance winner Milan Miss (Miller) prepared for the 3YO 1400 metres at the same meeting, as too Goyescas (Dye) being readied for the Benchmark 75 1400 metres, and O'Darci (Cameron) did similar work preparing to debut on Monday May 6 over 1200 metres at Matamata.

Scheduled to trial on May 7 at Te Awamutu, Rapid Gain (Stack) and 3 g Darci Brahma - Royal Rhythm (Cameron) worked over 800 metres at three-quarter pace. Fast Fiction (McKay) did likewise, and Cajero (McKay) did his work over 1400 metres.

Red on Black (Lang) worked over 1400 metres at three-quarter pace.

Continuing to build their fitness, 2 g Ekraar - Cape Win (Stack) and 2 g King's Chapel - Sea Rhythm (Miller) worked over 800 metres at three-quarter pace.
