Two More Singapore Winners
12 April, 2015
It is becoming a very familiar theme every weekend - another winner for Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker - except on Sunday there were two!
Yes the Te Akau winning continues as Von Snitzel and Chase both won well at Kranji on Sunday afternoon. Both horses were purchased by David Ellis - and both from Karaka.
Von Snitzel was purchased by David for $130,000 from the 2010 draft of Esker Lodge at the Karaka Premier Sale for Fortuna Syndicators. The son of Snitzel has now won three times in Singapore, with nine minor placings, with his stakes' earnings closing in on $120,000.
The 2013 Ready to Run sale was the venue for Chase's purchase by David Ellis for $120,000. The son of Nicconi is fashioning a super record in Singapore - he has now raced six times for three wins, a 2nd and a 3rd with his only "miss" being a 5th placing on debut last September. He is going from strength to strength and could well be Group 1 Singapore Guineas bound. His win tonight saw his prize money exceed $100,000 from just the six appearances.
At the start of racing on Sunday, Mark Walker held a 10-win lead over the next trainer on the Premiership table - tonight's two wins take his season tally to 32 with only three and a half months complete - and in excess of $1.5 million in stakes won for our Te Akau owners.
