Vale Hayden Allen

Everyone at Te Akau Racing would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Hayden Allen, who died suddenly today, 10 February in Matamata.

Te Akau trainer Jason Bridgman said:

“Hayden joined our stable after working in training partnership with John Sargent and we were absolutely delighted to have someone of Hayden's experience and expertise join the team.

“He was riding track work for us on a daily basis, prior to his main job at Valachi Downs. He was riding several of our good horses in the morning and played an instrumental part in the development and progress of Wolfwhistle (O'Reilly) for his spring campaign.

“His passing came as a real shock and the news brought terrific sadness for everyone. It is really unbelievable circumstances and our thoughts are with his family at this time.

“Hayden will be sorely missed. He was a great horseman and such a genuine person; hard things to find, either of them, let alone in combination."

Rest in Peace Hayden - we feel your loss so deeply, our hearts are so heavy - another bright star in the sky to join Steve Anderton.
