Wow What A Season

It's been a record breaking Te Akau season!

Today sees the conclusion of the 2012-2013 racing season in New Zealand and no matter how you look at it - Te Akau owners are riding the highs of a very successful season indeed.

We thought we would share with you some of the milestones of the past 12 months.

Now as you know, Te Akau is proud of its two operations - New Zealand under Jason Bridgman and Singapore under Mark Walker.  Te Akau owners are hugely advantaged by having the luxury of racing their horses in either or both of these racing jurisdictions - and the benefits are clearly obvious.

Let's throw a camera over the past 12 months as the New Zealand season ends today - now while the Singapore season runs to the calendar year (ending 31 December 2013) we have taken the results of both of our stables over the same 12 month period - so combining Singapore and New Zealand from 1 August 2012 - 31 July 2013.

Wow what a result - in terms of stakes won for our owners in particular, our best season ever and in terms of wins, our third best ever season.

In New Zealand Te Akau's 2012-2013 season stakes' earnings stand at $910,447 - while in Singapore for the same period Te Akau won prizemoney of $3,704,999 - this means we have won a combined total of $4,615,446 this season - yes $4.6 million in stakes for our owners which blasts our previous record by over $1 million.

In Singapore this season alone (which is only seven months complete) Mark and the team have won $2,575,850 in prizemoney and also look close to celebrating a record year.

In yet another milestone if you combine both seasons again (all of New Zealand's for 2012-2013 and Singapore for the same period) - the stable has recorded 120 wins - smashing our previous record of 108.

So Te Akau owners really are reaping the rewards of our international focus - racing in New Zealand and in Singapore.  This success is also a result of the passion and hard work dedicated by every member of our teams - led by Jason and Stacey and Pam and Tommy in New Zealand and Mark and Julia and Gus and Karen in Singapore.

We have just one runner left to race this season in New Zealand today, the final day of the season, so perhaps our final tally could increase.
