Xtravagant Bounces through Te Rapa Triumph

Stephen Autridge, who in partnership with Jamie Richards prepares high-class three-year-old Xtravagant, is delighted with the way the valuable colt has come through Saturday's Gr. 1 NRM Sprint success.

“Looking at him this morning, you wouldn't even know he's had a race, so we're pretty happy,” Autridge said.

The dual Group One winner is now set to cross the Tasman for a tilt at the Gr. 1 Australian Guineas at Flemington on March 5.

“He'll just have a nice, quiet time trotting and cantering,” Autridge said. â€œThe good thing is all our serious work will be done at home, where he's used to doing it.

“After we're happy on the Tuesday morning before the Guineas, he'll fly to Melbourne on the Wednesday evening, which gives him a couple of days to settle in before racing on the Saturday.”
