Xtravagant & Heroic Valour to Gallop

The Informant reports:

Dual Group One winner Xtravagant will gallop at Ellerslie tomorrow between races as he builds towards next month's Gr. 1 JR & N Berkett Telegraph at Trentham (note: he will be joined by Group 1 winner Heroic Valour).

The son of Pentire hasn't raced since he returned from a disappointing spring campaign in Melbourne, where he finished 12th in both the Gr. 2 Bobbie Lewis Quality and the Gr. 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.

But Xtravagant's explosive performances during his three-year-old season have earned him $4 favouritism for the $250,000 Telegraph on January 21.

“He'll have an exhibition gallop at Ellerslie tomorrow and then trial at Cambridge in a couple of weeks,” co-trainer Stephen Autridge told www.theinformant.co.nz.

“Then he'll be ready to go in the Telegraph in late January.”
