Xtravagant Pulls Up Well

Star three-year-old Xtravagant has come through his impressive Boxing Day victory in outstanding order.

Co-trainer Jamie Richards told www.theinformant.co.nz this morning that the Pentire colt, a winner of his last three starts including the New Zealand 2000 Guineas, has quickly bounced back after comfortably putting away his Ellerslie rivals over 1400 metres four days ago.

“He's pulled up really well,” Richards said. “Dan Miller looks after him and rides him in most of his work, and he was really happy with him this morning. He was full of beans, which is great to see. Now we'll push on towards the Levin Classic (16 January).

“We thought it was a very good win on Saturday. He ticked a few boxes, racing right-handed and everything, and now we're excited about Wellington.”
