Xtravagant to miss Hawkes Bay

The Informant reports:

Exciting prospect Xtravagant has been ruled out of his intended resuming run at Hastings this weekend.

The three-year-old brother to He's Remarkable was due to run in the www.vermairracing.co.nz on Saturday but co-trainer Jamie Richards said the son of Pentire's eagerly anticipated return would be put on hold.

“He won't be running on Saturday,” Richards told The Informantthis morning. “His blood just hasn't been 100 per cent and we're not completely happy with him.

“We'll just take him along quietly for a few days. We still want to be back there at Hawke's Bay for the Guineas on the third day of the carnival but we'll just need to find a suitable place to start him off. We'll know more in the next week or so.”

Xtravagant has had one start for one extraordinary win, scoring by seven and a quarter lengths at Hastings on April 18 despite racing greenly down the straight.
