Te Akau has a phenomenal record with the progeny of Cox Plate (Gr. 1, 2040m) winner and all-conquering six-time Champion Sire Savabeel (Zabeel). Having purchased and trained Group One winners Probabeel (3), Embellish, Hall of Fame, Shillelagh, Cool Aza Beel, Sword of Osman, and Amarelinha,along with stakes winners and performers Gold Fever, Aotea Lad, Savy Yong Blonk,Brando, Prise De Fer, Splurge, Royal Success, and Grazia.

Progeny by Savabeel have earned $108 million. His 2233 winners include 202 stakes winners and 40 Group Ones.

Her dam, Alpine Julz, is by noted sire Keeper (Danehill), who has left a host of impressive winners in New Zealand, including Group One NZ Oaks winner Keep the Peace and Levin Classic winner Keepa Crusin.

A versatile family, it includes Telegraph (Gr. 1, 1200m) winner Adventador (Fast ‘n’ Famous) and Melbourne Cup (Gr. 1, 3200m) winner Viewed (Scenic).

From the same consignors (Bhima Thoroughbreds), Te Akau principal David Ellis also purchased Imperatriz (2 f I Am Invincible – Berimbau, by Shamardal) at the 2020 Gold Coast Yearling Sale. She has won both her starts including the Eclipse Stakes (Gr. 2, 1200m) on 1 January at Ellerslie, in race record time (1:08.4).
