Her dam sire, Duke of Marmalade (Danehill), was a Group One winner up to 2400 metres, from an excellent family, and amongst his progeny ultra-consistent seven-time winner Marmelo finished runner-up in the Melbourne Cup (Gr. 1, 3200m).
Mark Chittick (Waikato Stud) said: “She’s a beautiful classic type filly and been a lovely filly all the way through her life. She’s always been great to do anything with.”
The family of great galloper Shogun Lodge (Grand Lodge), who was Joint Top Colt on the Australian 4YO Plus Classification, he beat the mighty mare Sunline in the George Main Stakes (Gr. 1, 1600m).
The dam, Lady Tatia, won twice to 1850 metres and finished third in the Moonee Valley Classic (Gr. 2, 1600m).
“We really liked her and thought she was one of Waikato Stud’s best fillies,” said Te Akau principal David Ellis. “She’s very correct, good colour, with a lovely pedigree. We feel she can run at two, but train on to be a really good three-year-old filly.
“She’s by New Zealand’s absolute top sire, which we’re having so much success with, and this filly fits the mould very well.”
