Lot 181 b f Tivaci – Domani Oro (Don Eduardo) $40,000 (draft: Riverrock Farm).
A regal looking filly with a terrific pedigree, she appeared right at home when quickening through the gears over the concluding stages of her breeze-up.
From the first crop by Group 1 winner Tivaci (High Chaparral), an exciting new addition to the Waikato Stud stallion ranks, with progeny selling to $500,000 already. He is by world-class racehorse High Chaparral (Sadler’s Wells), who in turn has become a hugely successful sire of sires.
Her dam, Domani Oro, is by the highest priced yearling ($3.6m) to ever sell at Karaka. Don Eduardo went on to win the AJC Derby (Gr. 1, 2400m) at Randwick, before proving solid as stallion and getting good results as a broodmare sire.
Significant in a strong stakes producing family, grand-dam Heartache (Casual Lies) has left impressive winner and producer Sworn to Secrecy (Keeper).
The filly carries a pedigree cross of breed shaper and legendary stallion Sir Tristram.
“She breezed up really well and we’ve got a couple in the stable by Tivaci that we think will make really nice racehorses,” said Te Akau principal David Ellis.
“She’s from a good winning family and the grand-dam has left four stakes performed horses.
“We were thrilled being able to buy her for only $40,000, as we thought she had the quality to make more.”
