Lot 51 br c Turn Me Loose – Sade (Savabeel) $80,000 (draft: Woburn Farm)
From the first crop of triple Group 1 winner Turn Me Loose: 2000 Guineas (1600m), Emirate Stakes (1600m), and Futurity Stakes (1400m). He is a son of internationally proven stallion Iffraaj (Zafonic), who also has quadruple Group 1 winner Ribchester at stud with Darley Europe and Haunui Farm, NZ. Iffraaj is also the sire of domestic stallions Jon Snow and Wyndspelle.
His dam, Sade, is a young mare by Cox Plate (Gr. 1, 2040m) winner and six-time Champion Sire Savabeel – a supreme champion stallion on the Australian stallion roster. The colt is from the family of Japan Cup winner Horlicks, and Melbourne Cup winner Brew. The family is overflowing with Group 1 winners.
“He is a very nice horse, strong and mature,” said Te Akau principal David Ellis. “He has a great attitude, good head, and plenty of influence in his makeup from dam sire Savabeel. He is a good physical specimen, strong colour, and overall a good-looking horse.
“We liked his page, from a Savabeel mare, and in turn from mares by great stallions Montjeu, Star Way, and Three Legs.
“We expect him to keep improving with time and become a Derby type horse after Christmas, and we felt he was very good value at the price.”
