Maroofity

Champion 2YO of the 2002-03 season and a triple Group 1 winner, Maroofity was the highest rated colt on the Australasian Free Handicap as a 2YO which was  an  outstanding feat.

Maroofity was another astute purchase by David Ellis and was trained by Mark Walker - he cost $46,000 at the Karaka 2002 Yearling Sales and won almost $500,000 in stakes.

Maroofity won ten races, three of which were achieved at the elite Group 1 level. His Group 1 victories were the Ford Ellerslie Sires Produce Stakes and Ford Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes (as a 2YO) and the Thorndon Mile (as a 4YO). He also won the Group 2YO Ford Wakefield Challenge Stakes.
