Description

Lot 112 bay colt King’s Legacy – Miss Bling (Golan) - draft: Wentwood Grange

The colt is from the second crop by Coolmore stallion King’s Legacy, by breed shaper Redoute’s Choice (Danehill).

After being purchased as a yearling for $1.4m at Magic Millions on the Gold Coast, King’s Legacy was a dual Group One winning two-year-old in the Inglis Sires Stakes (Gr. 1, 1400m) and Champagne Stakes (Gr. 1, 1600m).

Dam Miss Bling has left three individual winners, including Group Two winner Gold Bracelet (Pins). Miss Bling by former Windsor Park Stud stallion Golan (Spectrum), who sired plenty of impressive winners in New Zealand. She is also a sister to Beauty Flash, Champion Miler in Hong Kong.

Grand-dam Wychwood Lass (Clay Hero) was an impressive winner among five victories from 900m – 1200m, and in turn left five individual winners of 13 races.

It is also the family of Maroofity (Maroof), whom David Ellis purchased as a yearling at Karaka. Maroofity was Champion Two-Year-Old after winning both Group One Sires’ Produce Stakes races and trained on to win the Thorndon Mile (Gr. 1, 1600m).

“We know the family can produce hardy and robust horses, the calibre of Maroofity, who is one of the best gallopers we’ve ever had at Te Akau,” said David Ellis.

“We think King’s Legacy is an exciting young early and have struck early and bought horses by him from the outset, in order to get good value.

“The Redoute’s Choice sire line is incredibly potent and we think King’s Legacy has a great chance of carrying that on.”

The colt carries a cross of legendary sire Danzig, the sire of Danehill, on the sire line of King’s Legacy and dam line of Miss Bling.
