Description

Lot 119 bay colt Sword Of State – Miss Remington (Savoire Vivre) - draft: Wentwood Grange)

The colt is from the first crop of Sword Of State (Snitzel), whose first offerings sold for $380,000, $375,000, & $340,000, earlier in January at the Magic Millions Yearling Sales on the Gold Coast.

Sword Of State was represented by six colts and two fillies. Six of his progenies sold, while two were passed in, with prices up to $380,000, off a $15,000 + GST service fee, and $240,800 average.

Sword Of State was purchased by David Ellis as a yearling on the Gold Coast.

He won won four of five starts, including the Sistema Stakes (Gr. 1, 1200m), before being named Champion Two-Year-Old, and now stands at Cambridge Stud, where his first foals drew high praise.

Dam Miss Remington is by Savoire Vivre, a Group Two winning son of breed shaping international sire sensation Sadler’s Wells.

Miss Remington has already produced a good quality galloper, Strathtay, who showed ability winning twice over 1600 metres in New Zealand, and since won a further three races to 2400 metres including two stakes placed thirds in NSW.

“We’ve inspected all the first crop yearlings by Sword Of State, on the Gold Coast and at Karaka, and he is as much like him as any we’ve seen,” Ellis said.

“He’s a very forward moving and mature young colt, with a lot of presence and quality like his father.

“Sword Of State was one of the most readymade two-year-old colts we’ve ever purchased. His progeny are in his mould and they’ve sold incredibly well.

“By Champion Sire Snitzel, he had an enormous amount of ability right from the outset and a very worthy Champion Two-Year-Old.

“We’ve really couldn’t wait to see his progeny, like others we’re really impressed, and we’re excited to be buying them.”
