Straight From The Stud here's a filly you can't miss!

We’ve got an exciting update for you straight from Te Akau Stud, hot off the press today from the lush green grass that our lucky spelling horses get to enjoy. Mark Walker shares some fresh insights on the exceptional Lot 563 – a bay filly by Home Affairs out of Kings Iris.

A Thriving Filly with Serious Potential

It’s thrilling to see this filly spelling at the farm, where she’s really muscled up and is showing all the signs of being an early, precocious type. “She’s absolutely thriving,” Mark Walker says. “She looks really early, really precocious, and she’s certainly one of the standout Home Affairs we’ve had through the stable.”

This filly is impressing us every step of the way, and it’s clear she’s got what it takes to perform from an early age. After another 10 days out at the farm, she’ll be back in at the stables to prepare for the earliest two-year-old trials.

Pedigree That Speaks Volumes

This filly’s pedigree is equally as impressive. By Home Affairs, an exceptional son of the legendary I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit), she’s from the family of Te Akau’s very own New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year, King’s Rose (Redoute’s Choice). King’s Rose was dominant in her three-year-old season, claiming multiple Group victories, including the 1000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) and the Ray Coupland Stakes (Listed, 1400m).

Home Affairs, the filly's sire, has proven to be an exciting addition to the stallion ranks. A Group 1 winner himself, with victories in the Coolmore Stud Stakes and Black Caviar Lightning, Home Affairs has shown that he’s a sire to watch. His pedigree also comes from the top, with his dam, Miss Interiors (Flying Spur), being a half-sister to Russian Revolution, the Leading First Crop Sire for 2021/22.

A Filly Built for Success

When purchased from the Magic Millions sale, David Ellis CNZM said: “She’s got the size and scope to train on, and she’s got the natural strength and precocity to run as a two-year-old.” Her bloodlines are strong, with a cross of Nureyev through her dam lines and the legendary sire Danehill (Danzig) through both her sire and dam. This combination is a proven formula for producing top-class racehorses.
