Another Singapore Double

Two Kranji wins on Friday keep Mark Walker seven ahead on Premiership.

Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker continued his strangelhold on the Singapore Trainers' Premiership with yet another winning double at Kranji on Friday night.

Mark has started this season is outstanding fashion, having dominated since kick off on January 1.  The task is a challenging one but he has retained a healthy advantage over the likes of Michael Freedman and Laurie Laxon thus far - they will undoubtedly be unleashing more horsepower as the season progresses.

It was the Mark Walker/Joao Moreira lethal partnership however that was unleashed at Kranji last night - with Moreira now a frequent rider for Te Akau, this combination has proved hugely successful.  Moreira is on record as stating how much he enjoys riding for Mark and how well prepared our horses are.  As we know, a rider of his calibre can certainly pick and choose his mounts.

The first to score at Kranji was Eclair Sensation who departed maiden ranks in a narrow but masterful style thanks to Moreira when claiming the $35,000 Maiden 1200m.  Just two races later the honours went to Zac Warrior, a top result for the Zac Stable which has been a stalwart local supporter of the stable since our arrival in Singapore.

Mark now has recorded 28 wins in the first four and a half months of the season - and is seven wins clear on the Singapore Trainers' Premiership.

There is no racing on Sunday but of course it isn't a day off for the team, there are still horses to work and to tend to.
