Te Akau New Plymouth Friday Preview

Te Akau Racing has four horses entered on Friday 19 November at New Plymouth (twilight meeting).

Weather: fine, track: Slow8, rail: back straight true, 800m to winning post out 8 metres. No rain forecast.

5.02 p.m. R5 6 Lightning Field  (5 g Deep Field - Claudine) - Joe Kamaruddin (a2); was duly rewarded after five seconds in nine starts with victory in May at Ellerslie, and was not far away when resuming in Rating 65 1100 metres on 29 October at Hawera. In the $12,000 Rating 65 1200 metres, he rates a top four chance if appreciative of track conditions.

6.44 p.m. R8 3 Charmander  (3 g Shooting to Win - Moment of Choice) - Sam Weatherley; worked home well near the rail for fifth when trialling on 4 November at Matamata, and debuts in the $12,000 Maiden 1100 metres. The first of two in this event for the stable, he is from a versatile family, has been solid through trials' stage, and us ideally drawn (2).

6.44 p.m. R8 9 She's A Showoff  (3 f Showcasing - Que Sera) - Danielle Johnson; quickened very well to win when trialling on 4 November at Matamata, and debuts in the $12,000 Maiden 1100 metres. A quality filly from a mare that impressed winning over 1400 metres on slow ground and is a subsequently good producer, she has the credentials to act fresh-up.

7.14 p.m. R9 10 Ange de Reve  (3 f Belardo - Awakening) - Joe Kamaruddin (a2); looked good in her action while closing into minors when trialling on 4 November at Matamata, and debuts in the $12,000 Maiden 1100 metres. Her dam won over 1000 metres on slow footing and the progeny of the sire have acted with give in ground.
