2.15 p.m. R4 1 Kingsguard  (7 g Rip Van Winkle - Her Royal Highness) - Opie Bosson; not far away in smart sprint field when resuming in the Open 1200 metres on 2 November at Pukekohe, and contests the $35,000 Open 1400 metres. The winner of five races in Australia, including the Hawkesbury Cup (Gr. 3, 1600m), he should appreciate stepping in distance. Fixed odds: $10.00 & $2.50.





2.50 p.m. R5 3 Savy Yong Blonk (4 m Savabeel - Ampin) - Chelsea Burdan (a3); did everything right off the trail before being claimed late in the Rating 72 1600 metres on 28 October at Te Rapa, with Burdan aboard, and steps up in the $25,000 Rating 72 2100 metres. Third in the Sunline Vase (Gr. 3, 2100m), with notable efforts in the Desert Gold Stakes (Gr. 3, 1600m), Sir Tristram Fillies Classic (Gr. 2, 2000m), and NZ Oaks (Gr. 1, 2400m) last season, she claims to 56kgs and looks a strong each way chance if appreciative of the course at her first attempt. Fixed odds: $4.40 & $1.80.





2.50 p.m. R5 4 Mazzuro  (5 g Rip Van Winkle - Mini Pearl) - Dylan Turner; won easing down by two and a half lengths in the Rating 65 2100 metres on 28 October at Te Rapa, and rises in grade for the $25,000 Rating 72 2100 metres. He won twice to 2100 metres as a three-year-old in Melbourne, and capable of measuring up with luck from the outside gate (13). Fixed odds: $6.00 & $2.20.





3.25 p.m. R6 9 She's Not Bad  (5 m He's Remarkable - Andra) - Opie Bosson; has impressed winning four of nine starts and following two trials she resumes in the $30,000 Rating 82 1200 metres. Drawn (5) to receive a favourable trip, she can act fresh and capable of a bold performance if appreciative of the course at her first attempt. Fixed odds: $4.50 & $1.65.
