Te Akau track work Tuesday July 9


Course proper (heavy): Fog prevented timing.


Thrive (Walters) and Urban Angel (Cameron) crossed the line on terms after working over 1400 metres. Thrive (pictured) is preparing for the Whyte Handicap (1600m) at the premier meeting on Saturday at Trentham, while Urban Angel, a last start winner over a mile on the same course, contests the Benchmark 75 2100 metres at Ruakaka.


Three-quarter pace on the sand track:


Prospero (Cameron) 1200 metres solo, Gunsmoke (Richards) 800m solo, Alert (Walters) 800m solo, Milan Miss (Cameron) 1000m solo.


Last start winner Sneaky Feelings was said to have come on nicely by jockey Matt Cameron when working over 1000 metres and KC Walters was pleased with the work by Sing Like Ella over 600m.


Three-quarter pace on the all-weather track over 800 metres:


Longbeach (2 c Fastnet Rock - Betwixt) (Cameron) and Sir Darci (2 g Darci Brahma - Dominant) (Walters), Aspen (2 c Alamosa - Kirin Belle) (Cameron) and Wolfwhistle (2 c O'Reilly - Legs) (Walters), Chambord (2 g Zabeel - Miss Montjeu) (Cameron) and Ruthless Lady (2 f Keeper - Lady Dehere) (Walters).


Working a couple of times over 400 metres at half pace, on the all-weather track; 1 c Flying Spur - Madeleine Noblet (Walters), Realize (1 c Redoute's Choice - Rationalize) (Richards) and 1 c Tale of the Cat - Quatro (Cameron).
