Te Akau Rotorua Monday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Easter Monday (22 April) at Rotorua. 





As on race morning the conditions were: drizzling and Slow7, rail out 2.5 metres. 16mls rain overnight with 10mls forecast on race day, hence Ristretto and Remington have been scratched.









2.24 p.m. R5 9 Al Haram (6 g Sea the Stars - En Public) - Jonathan Riddell; nosed out in a driving three way finish on 28 March in the Waipukurau Cup (Rating 72 2200 metres), after getting through the line solidly over shorter trips. Up in grade but down in weight for the $30,000 Rating 82 1950 metres, he brings the right form to be amongst it. 





4.09 p.m. R8 5 Bojangles (5 g Roc de Cambes - Stever House) - Craig Grylls; won the Rating 65 1400 metres when resuming last season on Anzac Day at Awapuni, clocking the fastest last 600m of the day (35.7) on Slow8 footing, and indicated his readiness when finishing close up in fourth at the trials on 19 March at Matamata. Drawn barrier five in the $22,500 Rating 65 1400 metres, give in the track could assist his competitiveness in an even field.
