Te Akau Ruakaka Wednesday Preview

Date: 15 May 2019

Te Akau New Zealand has four horses racing on Wednesday 15 May at Ruakaka.

As on race morning the conditions were: cloudy and Dead4, rail true. No rain forecast.

11.59 a.m. R1 4 Irish Heart (3 f O'Reilly - Rehab) - Opie Bosson; spelled after a third on debut over 1000 metres in October at Tauherenikau, and following two trials in April she resumes in the $10,000 Maiden Fillies and Mares 1200 metres. A filly with ability, her pattern has been finding the line from off speed and she has the addition of blinkers.

1.44 p.m. R4 6 Burgundy Rose (2 f Burgundy - Paraiba) - Craig Grylls; debuts from barrier four in the $10,000 Maiden 2YO 1000 metres. She sustained a strong performance to win a trial over 800 metres on 26 April at Te Teko, having also won a trial in October during her first prep, and should perform well against a field largely made up of debutantes.

2.19 p.m. R5 7 Vino Bella (2 f Burgundy - Pinstinct) - Chelsea Burdan (a4); freshened
in February after two thirds in good two-year-old fields at Riccarton, she sustained
a solid gallop without urging to finish second, with Burdan aboard, when
trialling over 875 metres on 29 April at Taupo. Weight relief to 51.5kgs in the $10,000 Maiden
2YO 1000 metres, she has the ringcraft and ability to rate a top four chance.

2.54 p.m. R6 6 Oceana (3 g Ocean Park - Excuse O') - Opie Bosson; was not asked for too much in winning nicely over 1000 metres at the trials on 15 April at Waipa, with Bosson aboard, and debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres. With the pedigree to go further, and despite drawing wide (11), he has shown enough at the trials to have each way claims in this field.
