Te Akau track work - Thursday September 25 -

Course proper at Taupo (Dead):

Costa Viva (Cameron) and Rockfast (Hercock) went a working gallop over 1000 metres in 1:02, the 600m in 35 and final 400m in 22.6. Costa Viva (Encosta De Lago), the reigning New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year, put in top performances off bad draws in three runs through May and June in Queensland and now off a break is scheduled to resume in the Taranaki Breeders Stakes (Gr. 3, 1400m) on Oct. 11 at Hawera.

Rockfast (Fastnet Rock) was impressive winning fresh up over 1200 metres at Te Rapa, and next time out contests the Hawkes Bay Guineas (Gr. 2, 1400m) on Oct. 4 at Hastings.

Abidewithme (Cameron) and Wolfwhistle (Hercock) worked over 1600 metres in 1:46, 1200m in 1:15 and the last 600m in 35.6. After an eye-catching fourth in the Makfi Challenge Stakes (Gr. 1, 1400m), Abidewithme (Redoute's Choice) was unlucky to remain on the ballot for the Windsor Park Plate (Gr. 1, 1600m) and all going well she will take her place in the Livamol Spring Classic (Gr. 1, 2040m) on Oct. 4 at Hastings. Wolfwhistle (O'Reilly) is aiming to contest the Rating 75 2000 metres at the same meeting.

Clos De Tart (Hercock) and Show No Emotion (Cameron) galloped 800 metres in 49.7, last 600m in 35.3. Both horses are near racing trim and await a suitable assignment on reasonable going in which to kick off their campaigns.

Sand track:

Quintette (Lammas) worked over 1000 metres in 1:10.5, last 600m in 40.8. Scandinavian (Miller) covered 1200 metres in 1:25.2 and the last 600m in 40.3. 4 g Savabeel - Greensleeves (Zainal) and 3 f Tavistock - Macchiato (Samuelsson) worked 1000 metres in 1:09.5, last 600m in 38.9. 3 f Postponed - Promissory (Hercock) and 3 f Red Giant - Mantles Princess (Colgan) went 1000m in 1:11.30 and the final 600m in 40.9.

Sand track, three-quarter pace:

Vive La Difference (Lammas) worked over 1000 metres.
