Te Akau Warwick Farm Wednesday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Wednesday 16 September at Warwick Farm (N.S.W).

Weather: overcast, track: Good4, rail: out 3 metres. No rain forecast.

5.45 p.m. (NZ time) R5 3 Avadane (4 m Savabeel - J'Adane) - Kerrin McEvoy; is a newcomer to the stable, bred and owned by Brendan Lindsay MNZM and Jo Lindsay. Winning three from 11 and fourth in the Futurity Stakes (Gr. 2, 1400m), she finished fourth when trialling on 31 August at Rosehill, and resumes in the $50,000 Benchmark 72 1100 metres. Drawn barrier two ensures an economical trip and it will be interesting to see how she measures up. Fixed odds: $18.00 & $4.80 NZ TAB.

6.55 p.m. (NZ time) R7 5 Leaderboard (6 g Street Cry - Flower Fairy) - Sam Clipperton; was a winner over 2400 metres in Ireland, notched consecutive wins when scoring over 2000 metres during Cup Week last season at Riccarton, and resumes in the $50,000 Benchmark 72 1400 metres. He won a trial before going to Australia, and stretched out well for fifth when trialling on 25 August at Randwick. Although this will be a distance short of his best, he has acted fresh and should be finding the line from off the pace. Fixed odds: $23.00 & $5.75 NZ TAB.
