Te Akau Woodville Thursday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has four horses racing on Thursday 9 May at Woodville.

As on Wednesday 8 May the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail true. No rain forecast.

12.18 p.m. R2 3 Beau Geste (4 g Pour Moi - Villa Wanda) - Dylan Turner; broke
through for a well deserved win in the $10,000 Maiden High-weight 2000 metres
on 21 March at New Plymouth, before victim of big weight (59kgs) first time up
in grade in the Rating 65 2200 metres on 14 April at Te Rapa. Better suited in
the $10,000 Rating 65 High-weight 2200 metres, he can bounce back with an
improved performance.

2.03 p.m. R5 1 Pacific Coast (4 g Snitzel - Malibu
Road) - Joe Kamaruddin (a4); was a close fourth in a good finish to the Rating
72 1200 metres on 25 April at Awapuni, having resumed with a notable sixth in a
strong field for the corresponding event on 7 April at Pukekohe. Again meeting
a quality field in the $11,000 Rating 72 1200 metres, weight relief to 55kgs
assists but he requires luck from a wide draw (11).

2.38 p.m. R6 3 Te Akau Dragon (3 g Power - Cool Diamond) - Dylan Turner;
capped an improving form line with a dominant victory in the Maiden 1400 metres on 10 April at
Otaki, and steps in grade for the $10,000 Rating 65 1400 metres. He finished
third here three starts ago at his only course attempt and gives the impression
of being able to measure up from barrier four.

3.13 p.m. R7 5 Shebringsmerubies (3 f Sebring - Run
Away Ruby) - Johnathan Parkes; finished seventh on debut in the Maiden 1215
metres on 20 March at Rotorua, and fought hard to the line when narrowly denied
(½ a head) in the Maiden 3YO 1400 metres on 10 April at Otaki. The right trip
from barrier nine would rate her top three in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres.
