Description

Lot 252 bay filly Bivouac – Naadirah (Lope de Vega) $100,000 (draft: Windsor Park Stud)

Bivouac, by internationally acclaimed Australian Champion Sire Exceed and Excel (Danehill), was a racing colt of the highest order, Champion Male Sprinter in Australia, winning three Group One races to 1400 metres in Australia, plus a Group Two, two Group Three, competing at Group One level in 12 of 22 starts and always proving competitive.

The filly is the first foal from a mare by Lope de Vega, a sire son of hugely influential stallion Shamardal (Giant’s Causeway), the dam sire of eight-time Group One winning Champion mare Imperatriz (I Am Invincible), the current headline act in the Te Akau stable at Cranbourne.

Second dam Foreign Legionary is by the greatest stakes winning sire of all time, Galileo (Sadler’s Wells).

She is a half-sister to five-time Group One winning superstar mare Alexandra Goldrun (Gold Away), both out of stakes winning third dam Renashaan, by noted broodmare sire Darshaan.

First season sire Bivouac has already had a yearling filly sell for $675,000, purchased by Cairon Maher at the recently completed Gold Coast Yearling Sales.

“Bivouac was a sensational racehorse and we’re only too pleased to have bought one of his first progeny to be offered,” said David Ellis.

“He’s an exciting first season sire.

“She’s a really well developed filly, with plenty of rein and leg, and has real purpose about her.

“The family is truly international, by a young sire that has already been well supported by some good judges.

“Windsor Park Stud does a fantastic job with their yearlings and you can always guarantee that they’ve been well handled.”
