Lot 81 bay filly Snitzel – Re Edit (Camelot) (draft: Arrowfield Stud)

By the four-time Champion Sire in Australia, Snitzel (Redoute’s Choice), who serves so well the trilogy of Danehill – Redoute’s Choice – Snitzel, which is unrivalled in great Australian thoroughbreds.

Snitzel was the Leading Sire of Two-Year-Olds four times and also been leading Australian Sire of earnings worldwide.

Snitzel is the sire Champion Two-Year-Old and now Cambridge Stud sire Sword Of State, whom David Ellis purchased as a yearling at the 2020 Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

The filly is the first foal from Re Edit, a three-time winner to 1600 metres, by the Champion Three-Year-Old Colt in Europe and Great Britian, Camelot (Montjeu).

The further dam line sires, High Chaparral (Sadler’s Wells), Champion Sire and Sire of Sires, is backed up by tough New Zealand stallions Star Way and In The Purple.

Her third dam, Argante (Star Way), left Victoria Derby (Gr. 1, 2500m) winner Monaco Consul, a dual Group One winner and head of the 3YO Free Handicaps (1600m+) in New Zealand.

“We love buying first foals, have had so much success with them, and this filly is an absolute cracker from one of the best studs in Australia,” Ellis said.

“Having Camelot, who is by the world beating stallion Montjeu and also the very best, High Chaparral, both by the ultimate champion sire Sadler’s Well is blood that is hard to find.

“Plus, she’s got the depth of pedigree of two New Zealand sires that produced some great racehorses and deserve a lot of respect.

“Her fourth dam left the great dual Group One winner Military Plume (Sir Tristram). It’s a very good breed and it’s been bred accordingly.”

The filly carries a Danehill cross on the sire line and through the dam line of Camelot.
