Description

Lot 532 bay filly Proisir – Whatevs (Street Sense) $125,000 (draft: Koru Thoroughbreds)

Proisir (Choisir) made a real statement when heading off eight-time Champion Sire Savabeel (Zabeel) to become NZ Leading Sire last season, through the deeds of horses like Levante, Legarto, Prowess, Pier, Riodini, Dark Destroyer, and Waitak.

From a dual winning sprint mare in Australia, Whatevs is by the US Champion Two-Year-Old and Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense (Street Cry), sire of 12 Group One winners, and by Street Cry (Machiavellian), who sired the best of all time in Winx, winner of 25 Group Ones and $26m in prize money.

Whatevs has already left two individual winners of eight races.

Third dam Procrastinate (Jade Hunter) won the Tristarc Stakes (Gr. 3, 1400m) at Caulfield, and proved herself as a broodmare with 10 individual winners of 20 races, including multiple stakes placed Time Thief (Redoute’s Chief) and A Time For Julia (Redoute’s Chief), who in turn left stakes winner As Time Goes By (Deep Impact).

It is also the family of VRC Oaks (Gr. 1, 2500m) winner Personal (Fastnet Rock).

“She’s a really striking filly with a lot of quality and this family has been bred to some to of the best stallions in Australasia,” said David Ellis.

“Proisir is doing an exceptional job at stud, especially with his fillies, and to get a filly with this depth of pedigree at such a great value price is outstanding.

“She is a very athletic type of filly and very much in the mould of Prosir.”

The filly carries a cross of breed shaping stallion Danehill (Danzig) through the sire line of Proisir and sire line of grand-dam Whatever (Danzero).
