Lot 44 bay filly King’s Legacy – Enjay (High Chaparral) $220,000 (draft: Cambridge Stud)

The filly is from a highly talented family, both dam Enjay and grand-dam Gypsy’s Daughter (Mi Preferido) were impressive winners.

Gypsy’s Daughter won three stakes races at 2000 metres during a career of seven wins to 2400 metres and proved herself as a broodmare with four individual winners of four races, including Group Two and Group Three winner Rolling Pin (Pins), who also Group One placed in the Epsom Handicap (Gr. 1, 1600m).

Her daughter Enjay won twice in a brief career, impressing over 2100 metres, and she too has proved herself at stud with three individual winners of six races, including the multiple stakes placed filly Familia (Makfi). 

The filly carries a cross to immortal sire Northern Dancer, from an uncluttered dam line of bloodline crosses going back to a simple cross in the pedigree of Gypsy’s Daughter of Alibhai, who carries the blood of highly influential stallion St Simon.

The filly is from the first crop by Coolmore stallion King’s Legacy, by breed shaper Redoute’s Choice (Danehill). King’s Legacy was a very good dual Group One winning two-year-colt, scoring in the Sires’ Produce Stakes (Gr. 1, 1400m) and Champagne Stakes (Gr. 1, 1600m).
