Karaka 2024 Yearling Sale
Lot 74 bay filly King’s Legacy – Fatal Rendezvous (All American) $200,000 (draft: Riversley Park)
The filly is from the first crop by Coolmore stallion King’s Legacy, by breed shaper Redoute’s Choice (Danehill).
King’s Legacy was a very good dual Group One winning two-year-colt, scoring in the Sires’ Produce Stakes (Gr. 1, 1400m) and Champagne Stakes (Gr. 1, 1600m).
“She is a very strong type of filly out a very fast Australian family, and by a first season whose progeny have really impressed us,” said David Ellis.
“It’s also very exciting to buy a filly that is a direct descendant from the family of stallion Not A Single Doubt.
“The third dam, Singles Bar, is the dam of Not A Single Doubt, who is such a high quality sire in Australia, and certainly adds to the residual value of a filly like this.”
The filly carries a bloodline cross of breed shaping sire Danehill (Danzig), as the grand-sire of King’s Legacy and on the dam line of Fatal Rendezvous.
Grand-dam sire Flying Spur (Danehill) was a Golden Slipper (Gr. 1, 1200m) winner and chimed in as dam sire of Damask Rose (Savabeel), who did particularly well to finish runner-up in the most recent $1m Karaka Million (Restricted Listed, 1200m) at just her second start.
While Flying Spur is a noted outstanding broodmare sire, with over 80 stakes winners, so to Rory’s Jester (Crown Jester), a great influence of speed and also a great broodmare sire of stakes winners.
