By the four-time Champion Sire in Australia, Snitzel (Redoute’s Choice), who serves so well the trilogy of Danehill – Redoute’s Choice – Snitzel, which is unrivalled in great Australian thoroughbreds. Snitzel was the Leading Sire of Two-Year-Olds four times and also been leading Australian Sire of earnings worldwide. Snitzel is the sire Champion Two-Year-Old and now Cambridge Stud sire Sword Of State, whom David Ellis also purchased as a yearling in Australia.

Dam Silent Sedition won seven races, notably including the William Reid Stakes (Gr. 1, 1200m) at Moonee Valley, which Te Akau stable star Imperatriz (I Am Invincible) recently won for the second time in succession to record her 10th Group One victory. Silent Sedition displayed her versatility by finishing runner-up in both the South Australian Oaks (Gr. 1, 2000m) and the Coolmore Classic (Gr. 1, 1500m). She also won four Group Three races from 1400m – 1800m.

Dam sire War Chant (USA) won five of his seven starts, including the Breeders’ Cup Mile (Gr. 1, 1600m), and stood at stud in Kentucky, Chile, and Australia. War Chant was noted to be leggier than other Danzig stallions and athletically renowned for showing a good turn of foot. He sired 48 stakes winners and Silent Sedition was obviously one of his notable progeny.

Grand-dam Fiorentina is by very good sire Dubai Destination (Kingmambo) and third dam Porto Roca is by internationally acclaimed sire Barathea (Sadler’s Wells), who shows up in a lot of quality dam lines.

“He is a very powerfully built colt and liked so much by Arrowfield Stud that they are taking shares in him, as well,” said David Ellis.

“He is beautifully conformed, well balanced, and has a very relaxed nature and attitude.” The colt carries a Danzig (Northern Dancer) cross through the sire line of Snitzel and sire line of Silent Sedition.
