Description

Lot 47 bay filly Hello Youmzain – Equestrienne (Lonhro) $240,000 (draft: Haunui Farm)

A big strong filly by first season sire Hello Youmzain (Kodiac), an extremely well bred colt on the Danehill (Danzig) sire line, out of a Shamardal (Giant’s Causeway) mare, who won two Group One sprint races on his way to becoming a leading European sprinter.

Standing at Cambridge Stud, Hello Youmzain carried their colours to victory in the prestigious Diamond Jubilee Stakes (Gr. 1, 1200m) at Royal Ascot. Hello Youmzain was said by his trainer to have a great temperament and proved to be very tough and genuine racehorse.

Dam sire Lonhro, by Octagonal, a product of the famous Eight Carat family at Cambridge Stud, was Champion Three-Year-Old, Champion Miler, Horse of the Year, and simply an outstanding Australian racehorse that won 11 Group Ones.

His progeny are highly sought after, sire of over 180 stakes winners including 18 Group Ones. ‘The Black Flash’ Lonhro is a sire of sires and leading broodmare sire.

“Our eight-time Group One winner Imperatriz (I Am Invincible) is out of a mare by Shamardal and sire Kodiac is a three-quarter brother to Invincible Spirit, the sire I Am Invincible, so a very similar bloodline cross,” said David Ellis.

“She’s a gorgeous filly, great walker, all quality and prepared by Haunui Farm, who does an incredible job preparing young horses for sale.

“We bought Melody Belle off Haunui as a yearling at Karaka, and she became a dual Horse of the Year and set a New Zealand record with 14 Group One wins.

“The family goes back to some of the most gifted horses to race in New Zealand: Dopff (Tight), Pussy Willow (O’Reilly), Valpolicella (Red Ransom), and Catalonia (Commands), who we bought as a yearling at Karaka and he won over $600,000.

“She’s a real two-year-old type and we’re excited to support the new sire Hello Youmzain.”
