Description

Lot 255 bay filly All Too Hard – Natural Selection (Choisir) $50,000 (draft: Wentwood Grange)

Australian Champion Three-Year-Old Colt All Too Hard (Casino Prince) is a half-brother to the unbeaten champion Black Caviar (Bel Esprit), winner of all 25 of starts (15 Group One), and sire of Queensland Horse of the Year Alligator Blood.

Winning three times as a two-year-old, All Too Hard won three Group One races over 1400 metres in Australia: All Aged Stakes, Futurity Stakes, C. F. Orr Stakes, and now made his mark as a sire with over 1400 winners, including 66 stakes winners.

Dual winning sprint dam Natural Selection is by Choisir (sire of Proisir), winner of the Lightning Stakes (Gr. 1, 1000m) at Flemington, Choisir beat the best sprinters in the world when winning the King’s Stand Stakes (Gr. 2, 1000m) and Golden Jubilee Stakes (Gr. 1, 1200m) at Royal Ascot in the U.K., before becoming highly successful at stud.

Natural Selection is a half-sister to multiple stakes placed winner Zizou (Fusaichi Pegasus), while grand-dam Natural Is My Name (Naturalism) left nine individual winners of 16 races.

“It’s a rarity to be able to buy a filly that is a direct descendant from the family of stallion Not A Single Doubt for this sort of price,” said David Ellis.

“There is plenty of speed in this Australian sprinting family and she’s a filly that has plenty of class about her, too.

“The third dam, Singles Bar, is the dam of Not A Single Doubt, who is such a high quality sire in Australia, and certainly adds to the residual value of a filly like this.

“We’ve also got some very good horses currently in the stable by All Too Hard, including our Canterbury Belle Stakes (Listed, 1200m) winner Viva Vienna, the impressive two-year-old winner Dream Of The Moon, and multiple winner Insatiable.”

The filly carries a bloodline cross of breed shaping sire Danehill (Danzig) through her sire-lines, and also has a cross of speed sire Lunchtime (Snippets).
